cambot broke?
« on: January 20, 2008, 05:27:13 pm »
I seem to have a problem with the cambot in /domains/campus/room/conf

I get the following message when I'm trying to enter the room:

*Bad argument 1 to replace_string()
Expected: string Got: 0.
Object: /secure/npc/cambot#25 at line 84

'<fake>' at /secure/save/creators/i/irmo (/<driver>) at line 0
'cmdAll' at /secure/save/creators/i/irmo (/lib/command.c) at line 141
'do_go_str' at /verbs/rooms/go at line 45
'eventGo' at /domains/campus/room/corridor4 (/lib/exits.c) at line 66
'eventMoveLiving' at /secure/save/creators/i/irmo (/lib/player.c) at line 293
'eventPrint' at /secure/npc/cambot#25 at line 101
'doPrint' at /secure/npc/cambot#25 at line 96
'receive_message' at /secure/npc/cambot#25 at line 84
Trace written to /log/runtime

I haven't touched the cambot.c file in /secure/npc/cambot
All of the changes I've made to the mud, are mainly translated output messages. So I'm guessing the new output messages for 'says' and 'tells' are causing this error. If not that, maybe it's the 'is hovering around here' message in /lib/player.c (if i'm not mistaking)

Either way, I can't seem to actually locate the problem - let alone fixing it. Anyone has an idea?
I'm not as think as you drunk I am.

You are in an east-west corridor on the first floor of the Virtual Campus

Conference Room
This is the Virtual Campus ad hoc conference room. It is elegantly appointed
with richly carved mahogany paneling and gold-leaf trim. The luxurious carpeting
and moody lighting make this conference room a very comfortable, relaxing
environment. The main hallway is north of here.
There is a sign you can read here.

A podium is here.
A cambot is hovering here.

I can't reproduce the problem so I'd guess it does have something
to do with changes you've made. I'd suggest adding debug() statements
to the cambot, enabling debug for yourself with the debug command,
rolling up your sleeves, and seeing about tracking the problem to
its source. A useful document for working out debugging is here:

I'll go try that, thank you.
