oh, forgot, you can turn those type errors off by not using pragma strict types, seems you weren't too strict about them! :)

I seem to be getting to long eval errors, but maybe incorrectly if it doesn't work right.
I was trying to modify some code to work and a few times i got too long eval.
We shall see.

i suppose it works if your eval cost works out to be less than one second :) it's slightly more on dw :(

So, this week my server had problems, and to make a long story
short, I'm now running on Linux rather than Solaris :(

Why do I burden you with this info? I migrated Dead Souls Demo ( rugose.com 6666 )
to the new Linux server today, and lo, this exact problem bit me. I can finally reproduce
Yeik's trouble.

Wodan is quite right. I looked into it and found the culprit is that modern
Linuces don't honor the old ualarm behavior. A quick snip of driver code
made the trouble go away.

Given that many newcomers to DS will run into this between now and if/when
DS officially migrates to FluffOS, I will probably put out a new DS version with
this driver change pretty soon.
