Book Problem
« on: December 12, 2011, 08:18:44 am »
Here is the code...

#include <lib.h>
#include <vendor_types.h>
inherit LIB_BOOK;

void create(){
    ::create();
    SetKeyName("Terms");
    SetId( ({"book"}) );
    SetAdjectives( ({"generic","sample","template"}) );
    SetShort("IPC Key Terms");
    SetLong("This has the key terms of the different chapters in IPC in my 10th grade.");
    SetSource("/realms/master/area/etc/key_terms");
    SetMass(20);
    SetBaseCost("silver",10);
    SetVendorType(VT_TREASURE);
    SetTitle("Key Terms");
}
void init(){
    ::init();
}

Is there anything wrong with it?! When I try to read it; It does not go to the setsource!

What's the path to this code?

Please also post that key_terms file,and also post exactly what you type and what happens when you hit enter.

The path to that code is...

ds3.6/lib/realms/master/area/obj/key_terms.c

And the first (and currently the only book file) is...

Key Terms Chapter 11, Section 1
Types of Waves

1.   Wave…
A wave is a disturbance that carries energy through matter or space.
2.   Medium…
The matter through which a wave travels is called the medium.
3.   Mechanical Wave…
Waves that require a medium are called mechanical waves.
4.   Electromagnetic Wave…
An electromagnetic wave is a wave caused by a disturbance in electric and magnetic fields and does not require a medium; also called a light wave.
5.   Transverse Wave…
Waves in which the motion of the particles is perpendicular to the motion of the wave as a whole are called transverse waves.
6.   Longitudinal Wave…
Waves that cause the particles in a medium to vibrate parallel to the direction of wave motion are called longitudinal waves.
7.   Seismic Waves…
Earthquakes create waves, called seismic waves, that travel through Earth.
8.   Tsunami…
A huge ocean wave caused by earthquakes.
9.   Wave Front…
A wave that spreads out in a circle that gets bigger as the wave moves farther from the center is called a wave front.
10.   Simple Harmonic Motion
A simple harmonic motion is when a mass is pushed back to its original resting position by the force of another mass before it and so on.
11.   Damped Harmonic Motion…
A vibration that fades out as energy is transferred from one object to another is called damped harmonic motion.
12.   Surface Waves…
The particles in a surface wave move both perpendicularly and parallel to the direction that the wave travels.

If you want to know why I am trying to make a book like this in the game; First of all it is testing the books and second, well, I guess I just want to and a few other little reasons. Plus it is in my realm's library. Which, by the way, would be cool if you added one to the code for all new realms.

Here is the path for that book file...

ds3.6/lib/realms/master/area/etc/ipc/chapter01

I copied the file type (whatever it is) from one of the default books in docs.

Hope this helps!

Oops. I forgot to include your last request...

I type...

read index in terms

And I get...

                The Coder's Manual

Chapter 1:      "First Chapter Title"

Chapter 2:      "Second Chapter Title"

Again; Hope this helps!
