"Casting" Fighter Abilities
« on: October 21, 2010, 04:41:49 am »
Hi guys,

I may have looked in the wrong places, so I have please feel free to point me in the right direction!

Basically, I want to code some "spells" for fighters - abilities that they can use in combat.  However, it doesn't seem right have a fighter's player type something like "cast decapitate on orc".  Is there a verb in place already for this sort of ability (which I can't find) or would I have to write one from scratch?

Many thanks,

Iain

It sounds like what you want to do is use skills or commands. To do this, just create a new skill or command and give that class/guild access to it. If you want to have a unifying action word, like 'cast', but for fighters, you can do that too. Create a new verb 'kungfoo'. Then set a restriction in the verb so just that class/guild can use it.
