Sorrows mudlib v2.1

Existing mudlibs, like the Discworld mudlib, come with code specifically based around a set of design decisions.  I wanted to rebuild a new mudlib from scratch, so that I could experiment with new ideas and hopefully make development a little easier, and make gameplay interesting in different ways.  So, work on the Sorrows 1.x line was more or less stalled, and work on the Sorrows 2.x line started.

Like the Sorrows v1.84 mudlib, it has been a long time since I worked on it.  And because of this, I do not have a clear recollection of how far the development got.  I do know that there are not a lot of actual game systems, but that there are a range of interesting low level systems that a dynamic game could be built on.

  • A recognition system.
  • An object decomposition system.
  • A 3D world.
  • Web server integration serving the 3D world through generated VRML.
  • Etc...

This too, is no longer in development.  Sorrows v3.0 is being developed in Python.
