Title: Gas Bombs?

Anybody made any?



I have been having a bit of fun with larger versions of the grenade but I was wondering about the gas effects in the lib. Smoke grenades would be easy enough with a timed negative visibility effect.



Of course if I make such things, I will add ANSI effects to them. Real smoke bombs are more than just darkness producers, so I have the bomb pulse out properly colored graphics fast enough to push blocks of quick dialogue off the screen fairly rapidly.

The alpha releases have the beginnings of room atmosphere

support. The new race format includes an npc's respiration type,

which atm are R_AIR, R_WATER, R_VACUUM, and R_METHANE,

where methane is an all purpose stuff-that-kills-normal-biologicals

thing...if I were to make a poison gas grenade, I'd prolly have

it add a temporary invis object to a room that changes its

atmosphere.

I was actually hopeing that somebody had made some.



But I will make a smoke bomb, it is one of my standard ANSI-based tricks.
